A scenic circular walk from outside Adlington Railway station to Worthington Lakes and back.

After the walk we will gor for lunch at The Retreat, Adlington at 1pm. If you would like to be included on the lunch please email Robyn at holevents@hotmail.com by 8th March. A £10 deposit is required to secure a place.

Patterdale Circular

A hard 12 mile walk that takes us from the car park in the village of Patterdale to Hartsop where we start the ascent to Thonthwaite Crag, to High Street (where we have lunch). Then returning to Patterdale via the Knott. Scenic views of the Eastern Fells. (Note: In the event of bad weather a lower alternative walk will be provided).

Tockholes Plantations and Darwen Tower (10-mile moderate walk)

A lovely 10-mile walk through woodland (Tockholes Plantation and Sunnyhurst Wood) and passing several reservoirs on our way to Darwen Tower. We then return around Darwen Moor to the car park. There are a few steep inclines so a reasonable level of fitness is needed.

Pleasington & Hoghton Bottoms (4.5-mile easy walk)

Our walk takes in Pleasington and Hoghton Bottoms, starting from outside the Butlers Arms. Having walked through Pleasington village, we’ll pass along the River Darwen and through the hamlet of Hoghton Bottoms on our loop back to Pleasington.
